Here I am, page 28!

Don’t look now, but I’m doing a blog post!  I have sort of actually fallen off of the blogging wagon for a while now, and I’m not sure why.  I just didn’t feel like writing.   I’ve had two family deaths in the past two months, and I’ve just been sort of hunkering down and getting down to the business of life.  I’ve been doing the mom thing with the kids in school, and I’ve been getting in the studio too.  Let’s just say that I’m going to have some serious glazing to do in about a month.

But what I wanted to share with you today was that I am featured (along with all of the other finalists) in the October issue of The Crafts Report magazine!  If you are not familiar with this mag, it’s a to-the-trade magazine that has a long history of being a great business publication.  They ran a Facebook contest a while back, and on a whim, I entered.  Kind of a What-the-Heck, what-do-i-have-to-lose sort of thing.  And I was THRILLED to have made it to the finalists.  There were some fantastic pieces (and some wonderful product photography too) that I was up against, so I was just honored to have made it as far as I did.  But you know, this is normally how I do things.  I say to myself, why not???  And sometimes it just works out!  Life is fun that way, don’t you think?  So I’m on page 28, with my sculpture Thinking Cap.  I was so excited.  It’s not everyday I get to be in a national publication! You can pick up a copy in Barnes&Noble or you can download an issue digitally, if you are interested 🙂 Better hurry, sounds like November is already coming out!
